St. Angela Merici School was the first school to participate in the Imagine the World Project. The school took on the project with enthusiasm and impressive creativity. Over the course of four weeks, students from grades K-8 participated in reading, discussing and then creating illustrations for their own version of The Whole Human Race©. The Whole Human Race Special Print Edition illustrated by the students of St. Angela Merici School was used as a fundraiser for the art department and books were donated to their library.
Art teacher Kristin Thompson-Smith said, “this project was an incredible tool to engage my K-8 art students through discussion and creation. They explored ideas of diversity and empathy, which is our current school theme. All of my K-8th grade students were thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in this project. I am so proud of the imaginative and thoughtful artwork that they created to illustrate Tim McFadden’s universal message. I am so thankful to have been part of this collaboration. I hope to see this project inspire many more schools around the world.”
